FORZA / ABOUTThe Firm

One PE.
20 years.
Every stamp.

Forza is a Logan-based structural engineering practice led by Mike Montgomery, PE — a licensed engineer and general contractor. Every drawing that leaves the office is sealed by the same person who took your call, and built on real construction experience so the details actually get built.

Mike Montgomery, PE

Mike is a licensed structural engineer and general contractor working across northern Utah — from custom homes, ADUs, and additions to light commercial buildings. Because he's built as well as designed, he started Forza to do the work his way: a small office, a tight feedback loop with the builder and architect, and a sealed package that doesn't leave anyone guessing on site.

The Name

Forza — Italian for force.

Forza is the Italian word for force — and a nod to Mike's heritage. It's also the heart of the work: structural engineering is the discipline of designing for the forces that move through a building and guiding them home.

Every load follows a path — from the roof and floors, through beams and columns, down to the foundation — passing through the mechanisms we design along the way. The mark, a forward-leaning F built from two parallelogram flags, is that idea in shorthand: forces move, the structure holds.

FZ — MARK 1.0

03How We Practice

The non-negotiables.

01

Sealed by the engineer of record

No outsourced calcs, no rubber-stamping. Mike runs and signs every package.

02

Field-ready drawings

GCs shouldn't guess. We draw connections, callouts, and details a framer can build from.

03

Honest schedules

Custom homes typically 1–2 weeks. Commercial 3–4 weeks. We tell you up front.

04

Show up after sealing

Construction observation and RFI support are part of the job, not an upcharge.
